Roadtrip in Sweden - Skuleskogen Nat. Park

In September, we took a road trip in a rental van and drove across Sweden. We covered about 3,000 kilometers and visited 4 National Parks!

With only a few days left in Sweden, we started making our way back to the South. And as soon as we hit the road we finally saw our first reindeers! And I only got a blurry picture...

This time, we chose to use the faster coastal road as it's pretty much all highway from North to South. Our last outdoorsy stop along the way: Skuleskogen National Park. On the edge of the Baltic Sea, the park is buit around the beautiful Skule forest, but numerous landscapes complete this place: succession of pockets of forest, marshlands and rocky outcrops, the park also includes a few islands and the sea surrounding them.

One of the highlights of the park: Slåttdalsskrevan, a trully impressive and massive split in the rock. From the forest, it allows a quick access to the coast and many beaches.

In places, the forest reminded me of the lush rain forest of New Zealand, in others, the red sandstone and the pine trees on the coast made me feel like I was in the South of France. What a place!

After this overnight stay and a couple of hikes, we hit the road one last time to reach Stockholm and our flight back home!

See you again soon Sweden!
